                         Who is mind?

 

 

Mind is a charity that provide advice and support for mental health, campaigning to raise awareness towards mental health and improve services for those who have mental health issues. Mind provides supportive and reliable information regarding someone’s mental health conditions. Mind has an Infoline which will offer callers confidential help for the price of a local call, and a legal line which provides information on mental health related law to the public, service users, family members/carers, mental health professionals and mental health advocates, these can help people with mental health issues and give them support and advice and the legal line can give others advice as to how to help and support those with mental health issues.

Mind isn’t just a charity to help those with mental health problems but also helps people to spot symptoms of mental health problems and give advice on how to notice these mental health problems and offer support, advice and help those who need it. Mind has a network of 125 local minds across England and wales that offer specialised support and care based on the needs of the communities they support. Mind is campaigning because they believe anyone with a mental health problem should be able to access excellent care and services, they also believe everyone should be treated fairly, positively and with respect. They campaign on a range of issues that could affect anyone with a mental health problem, mind runs the charity depression alliance which has been supporting people with depression for almost 40 years, raising awareness and campaigning to improve attitudes towards depression, depression alliance merged with mind in 2016 to continue to help those with depression and all other mental illness.
