pre production diary
the first thing I did when starting the project before starting production of the advert was researching into the client, Mind. researching into Mind, who they were, what they did and where they are based/work from. I then researched into Mind's own advertisements to see how they made their adverts and how they spread awareness of what they do so I can get a better idea of what format and style they make their adverts and make my adverts more like the ones they make or at least an advert they would be happy with.
Next I researched into my target audience so I can make my advert suitable to my audience so I know how old my audience is and what their interests are, how often they smile and how often they're stressed and what they do to feel less stressed
after the target audience research and client research, I made a rationale/pitch, this is to present my advert to a group of people to see what they think of my advert and potentially get my advert greenlit so I can go ahead and produce my advert
I then started doing all the logistics for the pre production such as contributor release forms, a location scouting form, location release forms and risk assessments as well as doing a story board and script. The story board will give a more simplistic versions of what my visions of the shots I want my advert to have and it will also show a really simple version of how my advert will look as well as explaining which shots I'm, using and what's happening in each shot, the script will help those who are in my advert know what's happening and what they need to do and why as well as what to say if applicable.
These are all the contributor release forms that were filled out before I started the production of my advert, this shows good professional practice and communication with my cast/crew as getting them to sign these is required to say they agreed to both be filmed and said footage being shown to other people and even the possibility of it being put on the internet, if I didn't get my cast/crew to sign these they could change their minds and say they no longer want to be shown in it, this would lead to me having to hypothetically change the script and re-produce the advert costing more time that could be used more productively and in the real world of media this would cost time, money and resources to fix a small mistake like this which is why its important to make sure all my contributors signed a contributor release form
The next thing I did was fill out a location release form, this was to show that I had permission from whoever owned or was in charge of the property/property area we would be using to film during the production of our advert, this part of pre-production is one of the most crucial in the world of media and media production as it means if I don't have the property permissions I wouldn't be allowed to film in that area and if I were to film there anyway it could have dire consequences as well as it being illegal you could be charged with both trespassing and filming illegally
