Post Production Diary
once I finished the production of my advert it was time to edit the advert
first I started by importing my footage from my advert to begin the editing of my advert
once I imported the files they appeared in the media browser section so I can choose which footage I want to insert into the timeline to start the edit of my advert
once the raw footage of my advert was inserted from the media browser to the timeline ready for me to edit my advert
I had over 6 minutes of footage for a one minute advertisement so I had to find a way to cut down the footage to make my advert at a maximum of 2 mins
I watched through all the footage multiple times and cut out all of the unneeded or unnecessary shots and footage that I thought either wouldn't fit with the theme of the advert, were too lengthy and didn't match the pace of the advert
once I had all my clips imported into premier pro I had to start editing it the way I wanted it to make it as professional of a product as I could
I wanted to add text to my advert so to do that I selected the captions tool
Once the captions option was selected it opened the essential graphics tab that has loads of option for text,
I went for the basic title option as it was simple and easier to use. To insert the text into the advert i clicked on the option then dragged it towards the section with the footage and placed it where i felt the text would work best.this is what the text looked like when first implemented amongst the footage, just in the center with the default 'your title here' caption.to change the text I double clicked on the text and deleted the default text before replacing it to what i wantedto change the size of the text or the font size i used the text submenu on the captions menu, i then selected the text before moving the slider to whatever size i wanted my text to be.through the previously mentioned option the text size had been increased.i used the align and transform tools to move my text up and down or left and right, to do that i clicked and held the mouse down while dragging to move the text in whichever direction i wanted the text to move towith the text moved and size changed to my desired size/position i wanted to add a transition between the text and the advert so it looks more professional rather than jump cutting straight to the audioto do that i chose the editing tab, once this was selected it then opened a sub menu showing the various different options. i then chose the video transitions menu at the bottom of those options
once that option was chosen i had loads of different options to choose from, i chose the slide transition, to use it it opened the slide folder, chose which variation of slide i wanted then drag and dropped in in with the footage like i did with the text, however it needs to link up to two different bits of video or it won't work properly
now that the transition was properly in place i wanted to add the client's logo at the end of my advert so people knew who i was advertising for
to insert the image i selected the image from my computers files through the media browser and again dragged and dropped the image into the footageto edit the mind image i used the effect controls tab to open the options to move or re size iti selected motion to open the tools to be able to move or resize it, and got it to the correct sizeonce the image was put at the end of the footage my advert was finished and was ready to be uploaded
